About Me

Name: Anthony Naylor

Pen name/nom de plume: Tone.

Born in Holbrook, Derbyshire, England in 1970.

When I was only 16 I took my portfolio into A.R.F. Cartoons Derby and started work the next day, getting training in all aspects of comic production. After only a few years I got offered a position as a in-house cartoonist for Acne, the alternative children’s comic producing a staggering 22 pages a fortnight. I then went on to create my own publication, an environmental children’s comic called The Big Greenie.

My latest big project is The Daily Dalek, an attempt to write, draw and publish to the web, 365 days of situation cartoons, featuring Dr Who’s oldest nemesis, the Daleks.

I  love Doctor Who; watching films; fishing, which I would like to do more often; music; singing; playing guitar and cheese.

Please take a moment to look through the art and design services I provide. I can work quickly and to a deadline. I work freelance from my home studio, whilst sharing the care of my disabled daughter, who has multiple sensory impairment and cerebral palsy.
