This is identical to the old Atari home game, with the exception of the TARDIS and the Daleks facing off.
Things to note to get good high scores:
Until the lowest line of aliens reaches the top of the barriers, they will maintain the same speed. To delay their coming down the screen, shoot the vertical columns on the ends and the first couple of horizontal rows across the bottom.
The arcade version, you could burrow a firing channel through one of the barriers, and then pick them off … well at least until they’d shot out the barrier.

I thought I’d done really well until I saw everyone elses scores. 11,970. I used to love the old space invaders, Galaga etc. Kids nowadays don’t realise the progress that videogames have made. Thanks Tone for breaking up my day with a little light relief.

I recall that a version of the original Space Invaders was included with both my 70s Ohio Scientific CP/M box and my 80s Columbia suitcase XT clone back then. This is a great tribute to a classic 8 bit game from the 70s and 80s, even though we’ve ‘progressed’ to ‘more realistic’ games. Best old games to me were things like Tempest, Gyruss, BattleZone, Zero Wing, and the Pong and Breakout variants like Arkanoid…

I did this in flash and the 8 Bit Doctor Who theme was a free download on a site I found on Google under the search 8 Bit Doctor Who theme hope that helps
